Jean-Louis Roy, bouilleur de Cru in Sonneville (fins bois)
[Not to be confused with Domaine Roy in Verrières, grande champagne, nor with the house brand Louis Roy of Gall & Gall].
At the end of the last century, Jean-Louis Roy started to produce cognac. He did so together with his wife Cathérine and his brother Gilles, whose son Aurélien is the intended successor of the company.
They have contracts with Hennessy and Martell.
They own 210 hectares of land of which about 40 are used for wine. They distill their own products.
There is a partnership with other farmers, especially in Saint Cybardeux, where the family comes from. They also have grain, maize, rapeseed and Limousin cows.
Range (fins bois): VS, VSOP, Vieille Réserve, XO.
The BNIC reported that they also have the brand La Font Pellerine.
