Premier Cru and Grande Champagne is one and the same. Grande Champagne is one of the six regions or cru’s: it is the first cru. It is called the first cru because it is the best region in the cognac district.
When the phrase ‘1 Cru’ is printed on a bottle, you will always also see the words ‘Grande Champagne’.
