Introduction

Gautret was founded in 1847 by Jules Gautret in Jonzac. At first the brand name was Chateau de Jonzac. At the end of the 19th century it became J. Gautret & Fils, later to become Jules Gautret.

In 1959, Gautret initiated the creation of a cooperative called Unicognac, with Gautret as its main brand. In 2017, Unicognac was renamed Jules Gautret.

The following two emblems are common on Gautret’s bottles. As is the image of the chateau at Jonzac. The swan is the emblem of Unicognac.
